MSG Viewer Online – Read Outlook .msg Files Free

Use this viewer to read an Outlook .msg file on any computer, including ones without Outlook: a Mac, a Chromebook, a work PC where Outlook is locked down, or a phone.

No file handy?

What the viewer shows

  • Header: subject, sender, To and Cc recipients, and the date the message was sent or received.
  • Message body: the formatted HTML version when there is one. Older messages saved in Rich Text are converted for display; plain-text messages are shown as text.
  • Inline pictures: logos and screenshots placed in the body appear where the sender put them.
  • Attachments: each one with its size and a Download button.
  • Attached emails: a message forwarded "as attachment" opens with Open, as deep as it goes.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't send, reply or forward. It's a reader.
  • It can't open encrypted or rights-protected messages. Those need Outlook signed in to the right account.
  • Calendar invites, contacts and tasks saved as .msg show their text, but not as a calendar entry or contact card.

Privacy

The file never leaves your device. The page reads it locally in your browser, so even confidential mail (contracts, invoices, HR letters) stays private. Pictures the email would load from the internet are blocked until you click Load images, because those pictures can tell the sender that you opened the message.

Opening many files

Select or drop up to 100 files at once. They appear as a list: click View to read one, Download ZIP to get a PDF of every email plus its attachments, or Save all as one PDF to keep them in one formatted document. Each file is read on your device; nothing is kept after you close the page.
